The case for scheduled service

The Failures That Matter Happen Quietly

A generator that has not been serviced does not announce it. The weekly exercise cycle confirms the engine starts. It does not confirm the transfer switch will operate, the battery will carry a starting load, or the system will hold your building's demand for hours rather than minutes.

A Battery Past Its Life

Batteries last three to five years. A weak one cranks slowly on a warm day and not at all on a cold night, which is precisely when it is needed.

A Transfer Switch That Does Not Transfer

The generator starts, runs, and powers nothing, because the switch that moves your building onto generator power never operated. From inside the building this looks identical to a generator that failed.

Degraded Oil and a Restricted Filter

Neither stops the unit starting. Both shorten the life of an engine you expect to run for fifteen years, and they do it silently.

Scheduled service exists to find these while the power is still on, when a part costs what a part costs, rather than during an outage when it costs the outage as well.

Maintenance plans

Three Intervals, One Standard of Work

Every commercial generator maintenance plan covers the same work on every visit. The only difference is how often we come out, which depends on your run hours and how much depends on the system staying up.

1visit / yr

The full preventive service once a year, timed for the fourth quarter so the system is checked and proven before winter.

Best for lightly loaded systems in buildings where an outage is disruptive rather than damaging.

Most chosen
2visits / yr

Service either side of the two seasons that actually take generators out in North Texas, summer heat and winter ice.

Best for most commercial sites, and any system that has run through a real outage in the past year.

4visits / yr

Service every quarter, with oil and filter changes twice a year and a full inspection every visit.

Best for liquid-cooled systems, high run hours, and any operation where an outage stops production, spoils stock or closes the doors.

Single service visits are available if you would rather book as you go. New installations also take a one-off 25-hour break-in service, in the same way a new engine gets an early oil change. Ask about a service plan

The service visit

What a Technician Actually Does on Site

The same checklist runs on air-cooled and liquid-cooled systems. Nothing here is optional, and nothing is priced as an extra.

Engine and fuel

  • Oil level checked, oil and filter replaced on schedule
  • Air cleaner and spark plugs inspected and replaced on schedule
  • Fuel lines and flexible connections inspected
  • Corrosion protection applied to engine components

Battery and starting

  • Charge state checked
  • Corrosion removed, terminals cleaned and tightened
  • Battery charge fuse checked

Controls and connections

  • Control wiring checked
  • External box terminals tightened
  • Load output voltage measured
  • Vibration, noise and leakage inspected

Enclosure and site

  • Enclosure cleaned, conditioner and wax applied
  • Ventilation passages cleared
  • Exterior inspected for corrosion and damage

Every visit ends the same way. We simulate an outage: we cut the power and make the system prove the whole sequence, that it detects the loss, starts, transfers, and carries your building's actual load. A run test proves the engine runs. An outage simulation proves the system works.

You get a written report of what was inspected, what was replaced and what was measured, after every visit.

Proof under load

Load Bank Testing

An outage simulation proves your system carries the load your building draws on the day. A load bank proves it carries its full rated load, for a sustained period, under controlled conditions.

When It Is Worth Doing

  • The system rarely runs under meaningful load, so a real outage would be the first time it is properly tested
  • A facility standard, insurer or authority asks for documented proof of capacity
  • The building has been added to since the system went in, and nobody has confirmed it still covers what is now connected
  • You have inherited a building and have no service history for the unit
How we do it

We bring a load bank to site and test the system to its rating, either as a standalone test or alongside a scheduled visit.

Monitoring and emergency response

Know Before You Would Have Found Out

Two things shorten the distance between a fault and a commercial generator repair: seeing it early, and being able to get someone there at any hour.

Remote

Monitoring & Priority Response

We connect your system through Generac Mobile Link, over WiFi or cellular, and track its status daily. When it reports a fault, we see it. This matters most for the failures that happen quietly, weeks before the outage that would have exposed them.

Monitored sites also move to the front of the queue, with service within 48 hours of a fault being flagged, weather permitting.

Available through the monitoring program, and requires a compatible Generac system.

Emergency

24/7 Repair, Any Major Brand

Genuine 24/7 emergency service across DFW and all of north texas, same day or next day where the situation allows, from a fleet of five service trucks and six technicians covering the metroplex.

Emergency and after-hours rates apply depending on the circumstances, and we tell you what they are before we roll. No surprises on the invoice.

Brands we service

Including the Ones We Do Not Sell

We service Generac, Kohler, Champion, Briggs & Stratton and Cummins commercial systems, regardless of who installed them. We sell and install three of those brands. We maintain and repair all five, because the system in your building is the system in your building.

Warranty Work

We are a factory-authorized warranty service provider for Generac and Champion, so warranty work on those systems can be handled here rather than sending you back to whoever installed them.

Inherited a System With No History?

That is a normal starting point, not a problem. We assess the current condition, bring the system back to a proper baseline, and put it on a schedule from there. Tell us the brand and model number and we will tell you what it needs.

Getting started

From First Visit to a System on a Schedule

01

Site Visit and Assessment

We come out, inspect the system, and establish what condition it is actually in, including anything a previous provider left outstanding.

02

Baseline Service

Anything overdue gets brought up to date, so the schedule starts from a known position rather than an assumption.

03

A Plan That Fits the Site

We recommend an interval based on your run hours, your equipment and what happens to your operation when the power goes out, not on a package tier.

04

Scheduled From There

Visits happen on schedule without anyone at your end having to remember them, with a written report each time and monitoring if you want it.

Common questions

What Facility Managers Ask Us

The questions that come up most before a commercial generator service plan starts. Anything not covered here, call us and ask.

(817) 439-9009
How often should a commercial generator be serviced?

At least annually. Higher run hours, liquid-cooled systems and sites where uptime is critical usually justify bi-annual or quarterly visits. We recommend an interval after seeing the system rather than before.

Do you service systems you did not install?

Yes. Generac, Kohler, Champion, Briggs & Stratton and Cummins, regardless of who installed them, and we are a factory-authorized warranty service provider for Generac and Champion.

What is the difference between the outage simulation and load bank testing?

The outage simulation happens on every visit and proves the system takes your building's real load. Load bank testing is a separate service that proves the system at its full rated capacity for a sustained period, under controlled conditions.

Can you take over from our current service provider?

Yes. We assess the system's current condition first, bring anything overdue up to date, and schedule from there. You do not need service records for us to start, though they help.

How quickly can you get to us in an outage?

We run 24/7 emergency service, same day or next day where the situation allows, with five trucks and six technicians across the metroplex. Monitored sites get priority, with service within 48 hours of a fault being flagged, weather permitting. Emergency and after-hours rates apply depending on the circumstances, and we tell you what they are before we come out.

Do you cover more than one location?

Yes. If you run several sites across DFW and North Texas we can standardise equipment and service schedules across them, which usually simplifies both maintenance and parts.

What does a service plan cost?

It depends on the size of the system and the interval you choose. Tell us the model and we will price all three intervals for you, with no obligation to take one.

Do we have to sign up for a plan?

No. Single service visits are available. Most sites move onto a plan because it takes the scheduling off their list, not because it is required.
