Keeping a Community Bank Open Through Every Outage
Community Bank serves customers in Bridgeport, Texas. Like any bank, it depends on power to run its day: tellers, transactions, customer service and the systems that keep the branch secure.
The bank was losing power again and again, and every outage interrupted its daily business. Each one meant downtime for staff and disruption for the customers who count on the branch being open. Community Bank needed backup power that would keep the doors open no matter what the grid did.
Our team installed a 150 kW Kohler commercial standby generator. The project went well beyond setting the unit. The crew poured a concrete pad for the generator, dug a long trench and buried a propane tank on site to supply its fuel. Nick, Manny and Zach led the work alongside our licensed electricians.
For a bank, an outage is not just an inconvenience. When the power goes down, customers can’t be served, daily operations stop, and the business loses time it can’t get back. When the outages keep happening, the cost keeps adding up.
A 150 kW system gives the branch enough capacity to keep operating through an outage rather than limping along on a few essential circuits. Burying the propane tank also gives the generator its own fuel supply on site, so it is ready to run whenever the grid fails.
This was not a one-day install. The job took two weeks on site, spread across the schedule, to pour the pad, dig the trench, bury the propane tank and set and connect the generator. Every step had to be done right, because the bank was counting on it.
Today Community Bank has 24/7 backup power. When the grid goes down, the generator takes over, and the bank no longer loses business to outages.
Scope of Work
Generator & Concrete Pad
- Specified and installed a 150 kW Kohler commercial standby generator
- Poured a new concrete pad to set the generator on
Long Trench Run
- Dug a long trench across the property for the underground runs
- Connected the generator, fuel supply and building below grade
Buried Propane Supply
- Buried a propane tank on site to fuel the generator
- Gave the system its own dedicated fuel supply
What Made This Project Exceptional
-
An End to Repeated Outages. Power loss had become a regular interruption to the bank’s daily business. With a standby system in place, those outages no longer stop the branch.
-
150 kW of Commercial Capacity. The Kohler generator is sized to keep the bank operating through an outage, not just to keep a few lights on.
-
A Buried Propane Supply. The crew buried a propane tank on site, giving the generator a dedicated fuel source that stays out of sight.
-
Site Work From the Ground Up. A long trench and a new concrete pad were part of the job. Our crew handled the site work as well as the generator itself.
-
Two Weeks, Done Right. Nick, Manny, Zach and our electricians completed the project over two weeks on site and delivered 24/7 power to the bank.
